Greenwich Library’s Take Your Child to the Library Day

Windsync, a wind quintet, will be performing at the library on Feb. 1 in a family friendly concert.

Take your child to the Greenwich Library on Saturday, Feb. 1. for a day filled with music and fun activities.

Children of all ages and their families are invited to visit the Children’s Room and enjoy a variety of activities such as LEGO buildling, valentine projects, and winter themed games such as Snowman Bean Bag Toss.

A highlight of the day will be the Ashforth Children’s Concert featuring Windsync, an energetic wind quintet from Texas, from 2 to 3 p.m. The concert is part of the Curiosity Concerts series for children and will be held in the Cole Auditorium.

The program will cover pieces from Beethoven and Copland as well as Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

The Curiosity Concert Series is a new series of classical music concerts for families with children ages five to eight years old and their interested siblings of any age. The series is a coalition effort spearheaded by the Greenwich Arts Council. Advance registration is advised. Take Your Child to the Library Day will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Greenwich Library Children’s Room with a class for kids ages two to five accompanied by parent or caregiver. Children of all ages are invited to participate in the activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
