Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Daryl Hall & John Oates will headline the sixth annual Greenwich Town Party (GTP), the all-day family music festival planned for Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

Grammy award winners John Fogerty and Tedeschi Trucks Band also will rock this year’s crowd. Two levels of tickets, Neighbor Tickets and Sponsor Tickets, are now available online for pre-sale at the GTP web site, greenwichtownparty.org. Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, the GTP brings multiple generations of Greenwich residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving through live music, local food favorites, and family-fun activities.

“Celebrating our sixth year, it’s simply wonderful that we can have a huge, day-long community event for the Town of Greenwich to come together, listen to music from award-winning artists, and enjoy every moment with family and friends,” said GTP Event Manager Scot Weicker. “Since the Greenwich Town Party Neighbor Tickets are coveted, they make terrific holiday gifts.”

In order to guarantee entry into this year’s party, Greenwich residents and businesses can now purchase Neighbor and Sponsor Tickets and Packages. Neighbor Tickets, which cost $250 each, provide access to a designated Neighborhood Area with wine, beer and light fare, as well as designated parking. Sponsor Packages for individuals and businesses start at $1,250, and provide access to the Sponsor Tent with catered food and beverages throughout the day and evening, and premier parking in the Island Beach lot located directly across from Roger Sherman Baldwin Park Available now, there are several levels of Sponsor packages that are listed at greenwichtownparty.org.

Community tickets (General Admission), which cost $85, will be available in early 2016. In order to purchase tickets, one must be a Greenwich resident, Greenwich business owner, or Greenwich business employee.

This Year’s Award-Winning Lineup

Rock and Roll and Songwriter Hall of Famers Daryl Hall and John Oates are the number-one selling duo in music history. From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, the duo scored six number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Rich Girl” (also #1 on R&B), “Kiss on My List,” “Private Eyes,” “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do) (also #1 on R&B), “Maneater” and “Out of Touch” from their six consecutive multi-platinum albums – 1976’s Bigger Than Both of Us, 1980’s Voices, 1981’s Private Eyes, 1982’s H2O, 1983’s Rock N Soul, Part I and 1984’s Big Bam Boom. The era would also produce an additional five Top 10 singles, “Sara Smile,” “One on One,” “You Make My Dreams,” “Say It Isn’t So” and “Method of Modern Love.” By 1987, the Record Industry Association of America recognized Daryl Hall and John Oates as the number-one selling duo in music history, a record they still hold today.

John Fogerty is considered an American treasure and one of music’s all-time greatest singers, guitar players and songwriters. The Grammy winner rose to fame as leader of the popular band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, which earned him acclaim and recognition worldwide. Over his successful four- decade career, he has written many of popular music’s most timeless standards like “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son,” “Born On The Bayou,” and “Who’ll Stop The Rain.” In addition to winning a Grammy Award for Best Album in 1997, he was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame, and was the first musician to be honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame for his anthem “Centerfield.” This past October, Fogerty released his first, and only, memoir to critical acclaim and added The New York Times best-selling author to his many accolades.

Hailed as “a deeply skilled groove machine” by The Los Angeles Times, Tedeschi Trucks Band is a 12-piece modern roots tour-de-force, led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. After successful solo careers, Tedeschi and Trucks joined forces in 2010 and have quickly become well known for their legendary live performances, original songwriting and award-winning albums. Their debut album, Revelator, won a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album in 2012.

About the Greenwich Town Party

Sponsored by the Greenwich Town Party, Inc., a non-profit organization qualifying as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, the party is a volunteer-supported community event. The GTP is created entirely by the people of Greenwich, for the people of Greenwich. Sponsorships and substantial donations from town residents and local businesses provide the majority of party funding each year, allowing more people to attend. Thanks to the continued generosity of sponsors and donors, the ticket prices have been reduced to a fraction of what they would have been for such a large event. Every donation to the Greenwich Town Party above $25 is matched by one generous donor.
