Holiday Pet Food Drive to benefit local shelters

ConneticutFinalFlyer-(1)

Dan’s Dog Walking and Pet Sitting will host their 6th annual Holiday Pet Food Drive through Dec. 22. Donation boxes will be distributed to participating businesses so that members of the community can help give back to animals in need.

All pet-related items including, but not limited to food, treats, leashes/collars, bowls, beds, and toys will be collected. These items will be distributed to local animal shelters that could use an extra hand this holiday season.

Did you know that the average cost of basic food, supplies, medical care and training for a dog or cat living in a shelter is $400 to $700 annually? You can help alleviate these costs by donating some items that your pet doesn’t need anymore.

Last year Dan’s Dog Walking and Pet Sitting worked with “Rock CAN Roll” to collect and distribute these items to members of the community in need. In 2014 they collected more than 2,500 pounds of pet-related items.

This year they are collecting items to benefit the team at Adopt-A-Dog.
