Westport and Greenwich, Connecticut attorney Arnold H. Rutkin has joined the Board of Directors of the Center for Children’s Advocacy.

Attorney Rutkin has been involved with the Center for Children’s Advocacy for many years. His law firm, Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin, has sponsored the Center’s panel presentations and annual awards events, and Attorney Rutkin and his partners have been generous, ongoing supporters of the Center’s work for the state’s most at-risk children.

Attorney Rutkin is the founding partner of Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin, LLC. He has over 40 years of experience and a noteworthy record of family law advocacy; he has published and lectured prolifically in the field.

As a member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association, Attorney Rutkin testified on House Bill 5536, An Act Concerning the Relocation of Parents Having Custody of Minor Children that requires the relocating parent to prove that relocation is in the best interest of the child. He serves as a special master for family matters in the Connecticut court system.

Attorney Rutkin was editor-in-chief of Family Advocate — the American Bar Association’s flagship national publication on family law. He founded and was executive editor of Connecticut Family Lawyer, the official newsletter of the family law section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Arnold, partner Sarah Oldham and Kathleen Hogan are co-authors of the three-volume Connecticut Family Law and Practice published by West Publishing and frequently cited by Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts.

He led the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation for the past two years, and served in past years as chair of the marketing committee and chair of the fundraising committee for the AAMLF.
