Chanukah toy drive; JRA volunteers sought

When one thinks of Chanukah one thinks of miracles, small gifts and sharing with others who are in need. Chanukah is a great chance for families to volunteer and reach out to members in their community who may have experienced a recent reversal of fortune. Sharing the “oil” of Chanukah lightens one’s heart and teaches children that we are called to share our resources with others.
A Chanukah toy drive will take place at Chabad of Greenwich’s annual Outdoor Menorah Lighting on Dec. 6, from 4-6 p.m.
Chabad of Greenwich, a sponsor of the Jewish Relief Agency provides needy families with food deliveries of kosher food once a month, delivered directly to individual’s homes by friendly and caring JRA volunteers. Boxed items include canned fruits and vegetables, soup, pasta, beans, and tuna, all kosher and delicious holiday treats. JRA provides teens and youth with service opportunities.
For more information or to donate to JRA during one of the eight nights of Chanukah visit

Food vendors and businesses are also encouraged to participate. We all can play a role in reaching out to our neighbors in need.
