SPLURGE for a Cause shopping events

Continuing with their ongoing effort to “do good while doing business,” SPLURGE Unique Gifts, Home Décor and Jewelry recently donated 96 beautiful pashmina scarves to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Smilow Cancer Hospital’s Greenwich Hospital Campus. In honor of October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness month, with every customer’s purchase of $150 or more, SPLURGE donated a pashmina scarf. At the end of the month, SPLURGE matched the total quantity, doubling the gift to Greenwich Hospital.

Store owner Sonia Sotire Malloy commented, “We are thrilled with the response we received. This was our largest donation to Greenwich Hospital in the 5 years we have offered the pashmina program. Our customers embraced the opportunity to donate and hand-write heartfelt and inspirational notes to the recipients. Next year we will continue this tradition and our goal will be to donate more than 100 pashmina scarves.”

“Greenwich Hospital is honored to once again be able to distribute pashminas to our cancer patients thanks to the generosity of SPLURGE and its customers,” said Maria Marini, RN, program director of Oncology Services at Smilow Cancer Hospital’s Greenwich Hospital campus. “These beautiful pashminas are a welcome surprise to patients during one of the most difficult times in their lives. It’s very much appreciated.”

During the holiday season, customers can give back to local and national charitable organizations and schools at one of 13 upcoming SPLURGE for a Cause shopping events. At these events, SPLURGE donates 10% of pretax sales to the designated charity and provides wine, light hors d’oeuvres, personalized gift consulting and complimentary wrapping while guests enjoy shopping with friends and family.

All are welcome to attend and support their favorite organization at the following SPLURGE for a Cause shopping events. Limited evenings are still available this year. To schedule your organization or save a date for 2016, contact SPLURGE at 203-869-7600.
