Greenwich Land Trust presents: The Dirt on Food Supply

Promoting Healthy Soil for a Sustainable Environment

In celebration of 2015 being the International Year of Soils, David White, former Chief of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, will discuss soil health and the importance of soil in protecting our food supply. White also will discuss the evolution of the Soil Conservation Service as well as some of the programs that the US has used historically to preserve our food supply and enhance local farming.

The “Dirt” on Food Supply:  Promoting Healthy Soil for a Sustainable Environment will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 7-9 p.m. , at the Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium.

The event is being co-sponsored by League of Women Voters-Greenwich, Greenwich Library, The Greenwich Land Trust, and the Town of Greenwich Conservation Commission.
