As Hurricane Sandy looms, residents make last minute preparations

Hurricane Sandy is expected to start impacting Greenwich tonight with heavy winds up to 40-50 mph and rain that is expected to cause flooding. There have been evacuations ordered for the coastal and low-lying areas of Greenwich. Residents on Sunday packed area gas stations and grocery stores to get last minute supplies before the storm hit and emergency shelters have been opened at Eastern Middle School and the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center.

Post photographer John Ferris Robben and Post editor Ken Borsuk took their cameras out into the calm before the storm to capture a few moments.
