UPDATED TUESDAY 12:30 AM — In an effort to provide Greenwich residents the very best and latest news about the coming Hurricane Sandy, the Post is asking town departments and local businesses and organizations to send us news.

• Greenwich Public Schools will be closed through Wednesday. A decision will then be made on Wednesday about what to do about the rest of the week.

• The town’s private schools, including Brunswick School, Greenwich Academy and Convent of the Sacred Heart, will also not hold classes through Wednesday.

• No Metro North trains will run on Tuesday. No Amtrak trains will run either.

• Greenwich Library and all branches will be closed on Tuesday.

• Greenwich Catholic School and the Greenwich Japanese School are also canceled for Monday.

• impacting a town like Greenwich which has a heavy financial services workforce, the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ market will be closed on Tuesday.

• The Greenwich YMCA and YWCA will be closed on Monday. The YWCA has also canceled its preschool and kaleidescope programs for Tuesday and Wednesday and its children’s health and fitness and swimming classes for Tuesday.

• The YMCA’s child care center will also be closed on Monday.

• The Greenwich Boys and Girls Club will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

• The Greenwich Historical Society is closed on Monday.

• All Go Figure fitness classes are closed on Monday.

• Eye Level Greenwich childhood tutors will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

• All public transportation in Connecticut is canceled for Monday.

• Town Hall will be closed for all but essential personnel on Monday.

• Connecticut’s courts will be closed on Monday.

• Greenwich classic films has canceled its Monday and Tuesday screenings at the Bow Tie Cinemas on Railroad Avenue.
