Football: New Canaan at Greenwich highlights

Watch highlights from the showdown between Greenwich and New Canaan football, which was dubbed the “Marinelli Bowl.”

FCIAC fans had circled Oct. 24 on their calendars since the day John Marinelli, former New Canaan offensive coordinator and son of New Canaan head coach Lou Marinelli, took the job as Greenwich High head coach. After months of hype, the teams of the father and son faced off at Cardinal stadium.

New Canaan came into the game 4-0 and with its sights on a FCIAC Championship rematch against Darien, which took care of Greenwich (2-2) a month ago in a game carried live on the HAN Network. You can read more about the New Canaan-Greenwich matchup, dubbed by the Connecticut media as the “Marinelli Bowl” in the game preview by HAN’s Dave Stewart.

Along with daily news at 11 a.m. and sports talk at 2 p.m., the HAN Network’s live sports broadcasts over the next week include the FCIAC playoffs, which requires a paid subscription (details here).
