Fifth annual Fashion on the Avenue approaches

Fifth annual Fashion on the Avenue event will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

New details and sponsors have been confirmed for the night when the red carpet is rolled out on Greenwich Avenue. Greenwich Avenue will then be transformed into the ultimate high fashion catwalk with an evening of style featuring local retailers and designers.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with more activities including an art show, car show presented by Mercedes-Benz of Greenwich, boat show by Beacon Point Marine, fitness demonstrations by Greenwich Cross Fit, a dance performance by the Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich, cigar sampling by Nat Sherman (a new addition this year to bring out the men), music and gourmet food trucks.

At 6 p.m., a special tribute will be held in honor of September 11 followed by the fashion show. Honorary Chairperson and First Selectman Peter Tesei will introduce the program.

Fairfield County Look is the presenting sponsor of the event as well as the media sponsor. Diamond sponsors are the Delamar Hotel and l’escale, Greenwich CrossFit, and Zen Bronze who is also the beauty sponsor. Platinum sponsors are The Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich, Beacon Point Marine, First Bank of Greenwich, the Greenwich Arts Council, Mercedes-Benz of Greenwich, Nat Sherman Cigars, Uber and Val’s Putnam Wines & Liquors.

Participating designers and stores include: Alexis Bittar, Crave, Out of the Box, Parulina Fine Jewelry, Yoga Smoga, Clay, New York Sports Clubs, CrossFit Greenwich, Zen Bronze, Lauren DiNardo, Grace Connell Designs, Anne Fontaine, Eileen Fisher, Vineyard Vines, Jea Jea Sport, 2nd Time Around, Sophia’s Costumes (list still in formation). Other participants include Becker Salon, Color Café, Do’s Salon, and Jaafar Tazi Salon. Restaurants including Morello’s and l’escale will offer special dinner menus in celebration of the event.

Food truck vendors include, Caffe Bon, Lobster Craft, Skinny Pines, Taco Loco, Crazy Taco, Have a Ball, Bounty Food Truck, and Sal’s Pizza Truck.
