Health care talk tonight

She became a sought after talk show guest for her stance against President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act and now Betsy McCaughey is coming to Greenwich.

The Greenwich Republican Women’s Forum, put together by town resident and doctor Rosa Fini, will have Dr. McCaughey in to discuss the Affordable Care Act and take questions at a special program tonight, Oct. 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Arch Street Teen Center at 100 Arch Street.

Dr. McCaughey is a former Lt. Governor of New York State, a constitutional scholar and has spoken out extensively about health care reform in strong opposition to the president’s policies, with dozens of articles published for the Wall Street Journal, New York Post and other publications. She also recently wrote a new e-book called DeCoding the Obama Health Law.

Additionally, she has taught at Vassar College and Columbia University and written two histories of the United States Constitution. In 2003, she launched a nationwide campaign to stop hospital infections. Since that time, the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths has made preventing hospital infections a major issue and helped win legislation in 28 states to make hospital infection rates available to the public.

The event is free and open to all. People interested in attending can RSVP by e-mail at [email protected]
