SCORE Fairfield County and co-sponsor the Norwalk Public Library will present a FREE SCORE Select Case Study Series Workshop, “Running a Nonprofit Business“ on Wednesday, August 12, 6-8 p.m., check-in starts at 5:30, at the Norwalk Public Library 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850.

What are the features of high performing nonprofit organizations?

Why are strategic and business planning important?

What resources are available to help nonprofits be more effective?

Lessons learned from two nonprofit leaders who are implementing growth plans for their organizations.

Cynthia L. Russell is Principal of CrossSector Partners, a management consulting firm specializing in providing services to nonprofit organizations.

Kate Morrison is Co-founder and Treasurer of Safe Haven for Youth Ethiopia (SHYE), a nonprofit organization providing food, aid and education to school children in Ethiopia.

SCORE Fairfield County and Co-Sponsor the Ferguson Library will present a FREE Small Business Workshop, “Marketing to Your Mobile Customer “on Thursday, August 20, 6-8 p.m., check-in starts at 5:30, at the Ferguson Library 96 Broad St. Stamford, CT 06901.

This will be a highly interactive workshop exploring how mobile devices are changing consumer behavior and how business owners can capitalize on it.

Speaker: Kate Berg is an accomplished executive and entrepreneur focused on disruptive innovation in technology and media, Kate has held leadership positions at Gartner, KPMG, Jupiter (now part of Forrester) and HFMUS (now part of Hearst). She also built and sold two businesses, the first when she was just 22. Kate most recently served as President for Collective Bias, a high growth social shopper media company named to the annual Forbes List of 100 Most Promising Companies, where she led a venture capital raising more than $10MM for the business.
