Sacred Heart volleyball mounts stellar comeback against King School, 3-2

The determined Convent of the Sacred Heart volleyball team came back from two games down to beat King School, 3-2 (22-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-4) yesterday afternoon in the CSH gym.

“We’ve been working on mental toughness and tonight the girls showed they have what it takes to overcome mistakes,” Sacred Heart head coach Kim Lippmann said. “We’re hoping this win will boost our confidence and help carry us into the postseason.”

Devon Hoffman finished with 19 kills, six blocks and three digs, while Grace McKenney added 11 service points, 40 assists, nine aces and three digs.

Alex Jordan added 18 service points, 14 kills, 13 digs, three aces and two blocks. Not to be outdone was Maggie Ellison, who contributed with 13 digs, nine service points, four blocks and two aces.

Rounding out the scoring was Bianca Chiappelloni, who finished with eight aces, nine digs, six kills and four blocks.

With the victory, Sacred Heart improved to 9-3 on the season and will be back in action Saturday when they travel up to Chase Collegiate.
