Pippa Leigh is representing Connecticut in two ways this weekend at the State Games of America.

She trains with Olympic skater Paul Wylie and will take to the ice for the ladies short program on Friday July 31 and the the ladies free skate on Saturday, Aug. 1.

This is also a trip for Pippa which she will wear her sash and crown as a local Miss America Organization title holder in Connececticut, Miss Hockanum Valley 2015. Pippa will be in sash and crown during the opening ceremonies at Memorial Stadium friday night. She was chosen from the 61 athletes from Connecticut competing this week to carry the Connecticut State Flag.

“Being available for community service is one of the biggest points for me,” she says, referring to the four points of the crown. “Walking in sash and crown in the opening ceremonies for the State Games of America with the honor of carrying the CT state flag affords me a wonderful platform to encourage future young athletes and future Miss America’s to be involved where they can.”

She is off to university this fall where she will study political science, working to be a future news anchor.

You can see her skate at Ralston Arena Omaha Nebraska.
