Flood and Erosion Control Board seeks members

GreenwichTownsealFULLThe RTM Appointments Committee is seeking interested candidates for the Flood and Erosion Control Board (FECB).  The Board meets quarterly and on an as-needed basis.  The Town of Greenwich Charter states:  “The Flood and Erosion Control Board shall have authority to plan, lay out, acquire, construct, reconstruct, repair, maintain, supervise and manage a Flood or Erosion Control System.”

The Representative Town Meeting (RTM) nominates and appoints four Members and two Alternates to the FECB for terms lasting four years. The First Selectman serves as the fifth Member of the Board.

A desirable skill set would include project management experience and knowledge of how the Town budget process works.  We are looking for candidates who have strong communication skills and who can partner with other members of the Flood and Erosion Control Board to work with the Department of Public Works, the First Selectman, and the BET to move forward on a long-term strategy for funding Town wide storm drain infrastructure.  Interested applicants must be Greenwich residents and registered voters.

Candidates with legal, financial, engineering project management, or municipal budgeting expertise are encouraged to apply.  Please send a resume and/or bio to the Chair of the Appointments Committee, Candace Garthwaite at [email protected]
