Dance Arts shows its steps

Greenwich Dance Arts at the Greenwich Arts Center is poised for a new season of classes.

The classes are designed to give individualized training in group settings that emphasize core strength, different kinds of dance technique, motor skill development and creativity. The instructors say these classes give children “a leg up” in classroom learning, as well, as concepts in literacy and math from the technique curriculum. Therefore, “children and teens are learning while moving and having fun.”

Classes this fall at the Arts Center will be held on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for ages five to eight-years-old, Wednesdays 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. for teens and 3:45 to 4:30 for ages three to four-years-old and then on Thursdays 3:30 to 4:30 for ages nine to 12-years-old.

There will also be a Riverside/Old Greenwich class offered for ages nine to 12-years-old on Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. at a Riverside/Old Greenwich studio location. There are free trial classes, so parents and children have the opportunity to try a class before registering.
