Off-Beat Players perform Bye Bye Birdie Aug. 5-8

Off-Beat Players, Inc. (OBP), the Greenwich-based theatre company devoted to teen and young adult performers with wide-ranging abilities and disabilities, will perform the musical comedy, Bye Bye Birdie at the Arch Street Teen Center Wednesday, Aug. 5 through Saturday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m.

Bye Bye Birdie is based on the book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Lee Adams. Originally produced by Edward Padula, and produced by arrangement with TAMS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, Inc., Lexington Avenue, N.Y.

Based in Greenwich, Off-Beat Players currently includes about 40 teens and young adults who come together each summer to produce a fully staged musical. Established in 2007, the group is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable and educational organization. Learn more about OBP at offbeatplayers.org.
