The Nutmeg State Games Mission:

To recognize and reward Connecticut residents, of all ages, who have chosen to participate in healthy, wholesome activities that reflect positively on them, their families and respective communities.

To promote and reinforce the Olympic spirit of Competition that values sportsmanship, effort and achievement.

To motivate personal development in physical fitness and health through attainable goals.

Besides supporting CT athletes this weekend in Newington, as Miss Hockanum Valley, her title makes her a “local” to the Vernon/Rockville community, which she won this past March in the Greater Rockville Pageant through Miss America. Although she is from Greenwich, Pippa stopped in at July in the Sky in Rockville to join her Hockanum Valley community as they celebrated with fireworks as well as visiting the Hockanum Valley Community Council beforehand.

“I was so proud to be invited to July in the Sky to embrace the spirit of the 4th of July holiday,” Leigh said. I also stopped in at the Hockanum Valley Community Council to bring a food donation.”

Pippa would like to bring awareness to this outstanding organization that serves the Vernon area. She would like to remind people to consider a donation of food and time to the Hockanum Valley Community Council. Pippa will partner locally with Neighbor to Neighbor food bank in Greenwich over the next few weeks. Look for her donation collection box outside our local grocery stores during the summer.
