The Jewish Board’s 7th annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride is July 19

When you sign up to ride in The Jewish Board’s Hudson Valley Bike Ride, you are supporting a great cause that benefits thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers each year. In 2015, more than 250 charitable individuals will ride together for the Seventh annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride, The Jewish Board’s most celebrated fundraising event. The ride will start and finish at Purchase College, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase, N.Y. on Sunday, July 19.

Greenwich resident Anthony Mann, Board Chair for The Jewish Board, is the founder of the Hudson Valley Bike Ride. He said, “It is an honor and a privilege to help support the important work our staff does with people in need. The Jewish Board acts as a safety net by providing health and human services for all New Yorkers.”

“More than 25 years ago, I was a volunteer at one of our youth programs. Seven years ago, I started the bike ride to celebrate the work of our agency, promote the importance of both mental and physical health, and raise money at the same time. My hope is that we will continue to come together as staff, clients, trustees, and donors to have fun, reach for a goal and make the world a better place,” he added.

Participants can register to ride alone or as part of a team, volunteer to help out on the day of the ride, or donate to support the cause. There are three different ride lengths with varying registration and start times. Each route is equally scenic, with evenly-spaced rest stops along the way. The finish line celebration includes a BBQ with live music.

Support generated through the ride will allow The Jewish Board to sustain, expand, and enhance its programs throughout New York City and Westchester. Community clinics, day treatment programs for at-risk youth, training for mental health professionals, residential treatment centers for adults with mental illness, and individual and group therapy sessions for single parents and anyone struggling with grief are just some of the programs that require additional support.

The 2015 Hudson Valley Bike Ride sponsors include von Rohr Equipment, Benfield Electric Supply, Brazill Brothers & Associates, Inc., Chem RX, Alliant, Smith Electrical Supply, ACE, Colonial Electric Supply, Chelsea Lighting, Inc., RCR Associates, LLC., F&S Contracting, IG Federal, Skanska, Eaton, LB Electric, Turtle & Hughes, E-J Electric, along with many other generous individuals and corporations.

For more than 140 years, The Jewish Board has been helping individuals to realize their potential and live as independently as possible. With hope and resilience guiding its work, The Jewish Board promotes recovery by addressing all aspects of a person’s life, including mental and physical health, family, housing, employment and education. Each year, the nonprofit organization serves more than 35,000 people of all ages across the five boroughs and at a campus in Westchester.
