Pumpkin lady rises

Halloween is getting closer by the day and Old Greenwich School has its annual salute to the spooky season all set to go with its annual Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the school and there will be food, games, a haunted house, raffles and contests all through the day. There will also be pumpkins to buy as everyone gets ready for Halloween and event organizers said they take pride in the fact that everything here is from town and no outside rides are being brought in. The “pumpkin lady,” pictured above, is the mascot, as it were, of the event and was officially unveiled in front of the school on Oct. 2 as part of a neighborhood celebration and food drive for the Neighbor to Neighbor food pantry that saw 1,200 canned goods collected. This neighborhood tradition is quite popular and Halloween, with all the students and costumes, is one of Greenwich’s more festive occasions during the year.
