A new furniture store, Casabella Furniture, was opened in western Greenwich today by Anna Maria Salazar who came to the United States from Peru. Her location in Byram is about two blocks from the bridge into Port Chester, an area with several new entrepreneurial ventures and regrettably turn over.

Casabella translates as beautiful house, which is what Salazar hopes to provide for her customers. She was a business owner in Peru and came here for a better life and more opportunity. She has worked several years in her family’s furniture stores in Westchester County, seven in all. Today, she begins the 8th furniture store in her family, the first in Connecticut.

Salazar said: “Our goal is to provide our customers good furniture and good prices making an attractive, welcoming home possible.” Her manufacturers and sources of furniture include: ACME, Glory, and Furniture of America.
