Julia Child’s impact discussed Oct. 10

This year would have been legendary chef Julia Child’s 100th birthday and Bob Spitz, acclaimed author of The Beatles, returns to the Perrot Library to discuss his just released book, Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

This new biography of Ms. Child is regarded as an “in-depth, entertaining narrative, full of fresh information and insights into a beloved and influential icon.” The Wall Street Journal even said, “In what is by far the most substantial new book on Child, Bob Spitz draws a lively, affectionately detailed portrait…”

He is also the author of The Making of Superstars, Barefoot in Babylon, Dylan and Shoot Out the Lights. His articles appear regularly in the New York Times Magazine, GQ, Conde Nast Traveler, and Men’s Journal. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
