It was literally a case of Christmas in July as Santa Claus himself arrived at Camp Simmons to provide some relief from the heat for the young campers from the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich last Friday.

Courtesy of the Greenwich Fire Department, Santa arrived from the North Pole and appeared with fire hose in tow to cool off the campers. Kids had been looking forward to his arrival all day and were eager to see him and experience the water blast at the annual and much beloved Holidays in July! event. It was a day of holiday themed activities as everyone got into the spirit, even members of the camp’s staff. New Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich Executive Director Bobby Walker Jr. even got involved, feeling the water himself and then assisting Santa by spraying the delighted kids.

The event has been going on at Camp Simmons for 14 years and this year more than 200 campers were on hand for the fun.
