Billy & The Showmen will play to benefit the Greenwich-based Stand for the Troops.

Put on your dancing shoes for a benefit to support the troops at the Warriors Ball on April 11 at 7 p.m. This event will be in support of veterans with post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.

The dinner dance, with music by Connecticut-based band Billy & The Showmen, is being held to raise awareness and funds to identify and provide assistance to troubled veterans who suffer from PTSD and related issues.

The first Warriors Ball is being hosted by Greenwich resident Eilhys England Hackworth, chair of Stand for the Troops (SFTT), an organization she co-founded with her late husband Col. David Hackworth, and by SFTT President Major Gen. John Batiste (Ret).

Proceeds from the evening’s dinner dance, silent auction and raffle will benefit SFTT’s PTS & TBI Rescue Coalition. For 15 years, Stand for the Troops or SFTT, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit apolitical educational foundation based in Greenwich, has dedicated its resources to safeguarding the physical, mental and emotional well-being of America’s serving and returning frontline troops.

With one in five soldiers and marines returning from Iraq and Afghanistan affected by combat-related PTSD and a shocking 22 vets committing suicide every day, SFTT’s Rescue Coalition is focused on helping our most at-risk veterans get the timely treatment they need to survive and transition back to their families, communities and pre-PTS lives. The coalition works to remove the stigma by raising awareness, providing effective pro bono treatments, supporting other promising treatment protocols and establishing a modular pilot program for replication across the country.

Tickets for the Warriors Ball are $70 each ($125 for two) and include dinner, music, beer, wine and soda. There will be a cash bar for all other beverages. For more information on the Warriors Ball, and to support the troops and returning veterans, call 203-629-0288 or visit

The event will be at the Knights of Columbus, 507 Shippan Avenue, Stamford.
