Boys & Girls Club brings the drama

Do you love acting? Ever wanted to sword fight? Ever wanted to speak in the rich dialogue and accents of a bygone area? Then look no further because the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich Drama Club has announced the second annual Shakespeare Club.

Young members of the community are invited to spend an hour exploring some of Shakespeare’s best loved works. Participants will learn all about the author and the plays he wrote — culminating with a short performance from his beloved romance: A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Classes have begun, but those interested can still join. Shakespeare Club meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 1, 7, 14, 28, and Dec. 5, 6, and 7. The performance for the class is set for Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

There is no fee to join, but participants must be between the ages of six and 18, be members of the club and love acting, adventure, literature and Shakespeare.

For more information about the program, contact the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich at [email protected] or call 203-869-3224.
