Goodway president dives into Sea Research

Town native and Goodway Technologies President Tim Kane will soon put his passion for marine science to use as a newly appointed member of the Sea Research Foundation Board of Trustees.

Mr. Kane is active in a number of marine science and youth oriented philanthropies and currently serves on the Sea Research board’s development and education committees.

Based in Mystic, Sea Research is the parent organization of Mystic Aquarium, with an impact that extends worldwide through a combination of research, education and exploration initiatives designed to protect the ocean.

When Sea Research President and CEO Dr. Stephen Coan was first introduced to Mr. Kane’s company, he quickly realized that it was no ordinary manufacturing business.

“Tim has brought tremendous innovation to complex facilities management and HVAC equipment,” Dr. Coan commented. “Mystic Aquarium, as you might imagine, is a pretty complicated facility and there is no question that Goodway’s product lines have a direct fit to what we do. More importantly, Tim brings such passion to the oceans that you can’t help but get excited talking with him. He is committed to Connecticut and he really cares about protecting the oceans on a global basis. I am excited to have him on our board of trustees.”

Mr. Kane shares Dr. Coan’s enthusiasm.

“I am deeply honored to be a part of the ongoing efforts of Sea Research Foundation to uphold their important mission,” Mr. Kane said. “This provides a unique opportunity for me to combine my love of the ocean with a desire to help contribute to an amazingly successful organization that encourages us all to be stewards of our greatest natural resource.”
