Book Beat is back

This fall Jewish Family Services of Greenwich will be starting the seventh year of its JFS Book Beat: A Woman’s Night Out, our book group for Jewish women of all ages.

This unique book group includes a diverse mix of fiction, memoir, biography and short stories and each book in our series has themes relevant to Jewish women. Created and designed by women in the community, this year’s Book Beat will feature Judi Margolin as facilitator. Ms. Margolin is an avid reader and has a great deal of experience both as an instructor in classes for adults and as a facilitator of group meetings, conferences and retreats. She is the author of several non-fiction books.

There will be five separate sessions and each session will be held on a Wednesday evening at Jewish Family Services of Greenwich on One Holly Hill Lane. At 7 p.m. there will be light refreshments and at 7:30 the book discussion will begin. The cost for the full series of five sessions is $100; each individual session is $25.

On Oct. 10, the discussion will center on What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank by Nathan Englander. On Dec. 5 it will be The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de Waal. Then on Feb. 27 the book is Wherever You Go by Joan Leegant. This will be followed on April 24 with Hush by Eishes Chayil and, on June 5, The Jewish Husband by Lia Levi.

To register, send a check to Jewish Family Services, One Holly Hill Lane, Greenwich, CT 06830 or e-mail Tatiana Nichiforova at [email protected] Mastercard, Visa and American Express are all accepted.
