Art exhibition: On & Off the Wall benefits Neighborhood Studios

“On & Off the Wall,” an exhibition of 15 artists, including Greenwich native Cynthia Whalen, runs from July 15-18, at the Art/Place Gallery, in Fairfield. A reception to meet the artists will be held Saturday, July 18, from 2-5 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Area artists exhibiting original artwork include Ziggy Bober, Amy Bock, Lucienne “Lu” Buckner, Katherine Evans, Linda Dohanos, Scott Glaser, Siovhan Hutcherson, Amy Kaplan, Scott Kuykendall, Susan Murray, Susan Newbold, Susan Tabachnick, Malu Tan, Karen Vogel, and Cynthia Whalen.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Neighborhood Studios, a non-profit community school of the arts that reaches more than 1,500 Greater Bridgeport area youths each year.

The artists have all participated in the 2015 Make.Art.Work. program, a comprehensive career development program for visual artists in Connecticut taking place in Fairfield, Hartford and New Haven counties. The Fairfield group meets monthly at the Westport Art Center and is sponsored by the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County through a grant from the Tremaine Foundation.
