Art Society of Old Greenwich holds annual open juried art show

The Art Society of Old Greenwich presents its annual Open Juried Art Show, which will be on exhibit from June 13 through July 16 at the Bendheim Gallery in Greenwich.

The show will feature a collection of artworks created by local area artists and selected by juror, Steven Parton, award winning painter, portrait artist and teacher. This juried show attracts many distinguished artists, resulting in a visual pageant that is not to be missed.

A variety of media will be represented: watercolor, oil, acrylics, drawing/graphics, photography, pastel, sculpture and other media. All works will be available for purchase. An artists’ reception, free to the public, will be held on Friday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Bendheim Gallery. Refreshments will be served.

Steven Parton, our juror, teaches privately and is on the faculty of the Silvermine Guild Arts Center and the Westport School District. Professional affiliations include the Salmagundi Arts Club, Fellow Member of the American Artists Professional League, the Society of Illustrators, Audubon Artists, Allied Artists of America, and the Portrait Society of America. He has been voted Best of the Gold Coast for his portraits.

For Artists: All artists are welcome to submit works to this show in any of the media listed above. You do not need to be a member of the ASOG. Receiving is Saturday, June 13, 10am to noon at the Bendheim Gallery. Awards will be presented at the artists’ reception. The Bendheim Gallery is located in the Greenwich Arts Council, 299 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich. It is open weekdays, 10-5, and on weekends, noon-4. Admission is free.
