Doing the monster 'blast' at annual Greenwich Point event

DSC0205Greenwich’s artists came out in force last Saturday and the sands of Greenwich Point were their canvas. The annual Sand Blast featured creations of all shapes and sizes including an impressive sea monster that Jake Jolliffe, Jacopo Marin and Rob Jolliffe helped create. The annual sand castle building contest, which is co-sponsored by the Greenwich Arts Council and the town’s Department of Parks and Recreation, had families and friends working in teams to create the most unique design with several taking their inspiration from their favorite animated characters (Spongebob Squarepants, Mike from Disney’s Monster’s Inc. and even the minions from Despicable Me all made appearances) and others created creatures and structures of their own design. Post photographer John Ferris Robben was on hand to record it all.
