Nature walk celebrates National Trails Day

Greenwich Audubon and Land Trust will offer an extensive guided nature walk to celebrate Trails Day on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the Audubon Greenwich and Greenwich Land Trust Preserves. Hikers should met at Audubon Greenwich Center parking lot off of Riversville Road. Meadow entrance to Hillside Trail.

This 3-mile hike will span a variety of habitats, including a red maple swamp, several meadows, a lake, and hillside forests. Visitors will hike some of the highest terrain in Greenwich and see an array of plants and wildlife. Greenwich Land Trust staff will point out ecological and geological features of interest.

Terrain is moderately technical with some steep and rocky sections. Bring sturdy shoes, a bottle of water, and protection for the sun and insects.

Families are welcome. Rain cancels.
