Greenwich resident, Olympic coach to speak at ‘Young Women in Sport’

“Young Women in Sport” — a panel discussion and Q&A featuring an all-star panel of female Olympic coaches & players and college coaches will be held Sunday, May 17, from 4-5:30 p.m., at the Convent of Sacred Heart, Greenwich.

The panel will discuss the value of athletics in young women’s lives.

The event is ideal for young female athletes of all levels in middle & high school as well as middle & high school coaches (whose ticket fees are waived).

The panel includes Greenwich resident Katey Stone, head coach, Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey (Team USA) and Harvard Women’s Ice Hockey and athletic director at Sacred Heart; Whit Hagerman, Asst Coach, Dartmouth Women’s Lacrosse (and former UVA lax player); Jamie Phinney, player, Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey (Team USA) & coach, Harvard Women’s Ice Hockey and Hotchkiss School Ice Hockey; Mel McLaughlin, coach, NCAA Women’s Swim Coach, Wellesley College (also men’s & women’s swim coach, Middlebury College).

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at youngwomeninsport.com. Coaches are admitted free.
