Beacon School to move to Hubbard Mansion in Stamford

The Beacon School, one of Greenwich Education Group’s three independent day schools, is moving to a new location for the fall of 2015: the historic Hubbard Mansion at 111 West North Street in Stamford.

Formerly the home of Mother of God Academy, the beautiful Hubbard Mansion is located in the Hubbard Heights section of Stamford, one block from Stamford Hospital.  Incorporating elements from the original 1890 structure as well as its subsequent expansion, the building contains bright classrooms, a library, a gymnasium, a performance space, expansive meeting rooms, and ample grounds.  The site also includes a separate building for the lower school program and housing for international students.  The new school location allows Beacon to enlarge its current enrollment and expand its already extensive course offerings, with additional indoor and outdoor facilities.

Beacon is an accredited, coed, college preparatory independent day school for intellectually curious students in grades 3-12. Operating at the intersection of progressive and traditional education, Beacon’s core curriculum is aligned with that of other elite private schools, but its method of delivery is personalized, with a 3:1 student to teacher ratio and an individualized approach. Through small-group instruction in a community of inspired learners, Beacon students achieve academic excellence while following their own unique paths.

Renovations began in April with a completion date by August, 2015.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony is being planned for August.  For more information on the Beacon School, contact the Head of School, Meredith Hafer, at 203-409-0066, [email protected]
