Feminella to speak to Retired Men’s Association

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 10:45 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church meeting room, at 1 West Putnam Avenue, Richard C. Feminella, manager of Greenwich’s Wastewater Division will speak to the Greenwich Retired Men’s Association (RMA).

Mr. Feminella will outline to the RMA members what this important unit of the Department of Public Works does within town government. While less visible than the police, fire department personnel and library staff, organizers for the association said the Wastewater Division’s “expert functioning nonetheless makes an essential contribution to Greenwich’s quality of life.”

Mr. Feminella has 18 years of experience in environmental engineering. Before taking over this leadership post in Greenwich government, he worked for many years he worked as an engineer with consulting firms advising various cities in the metropolitan New York/New Jersey region on wastewater and environmental issues.

He will describe the town’s collection system, its treatment plant and the nitrogen removal process, all of which the town has him manage, with a staff of 24 reporting to him and multimillion dollar operating and capital improvement budgets at his disposal.

The program will be open to the public.
