Time to Go Wild! on Sunday

Ready to “Go Wild?” The annual Greenwich Land Trust event is back this Sunday, Sept. 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Conyers.

This event is considered the land trust’s premier family event of the year and Go Wild! always attracts an enthusiastic family crowd to enjoy autumn event offerings, including a giant maze, petting zoo, pony rides, birds of prey exhibit, live music, hot air balloon rides and delicious food for all.

The festive event raises money to fund the GLT’s land acquisition program and stewardship of its 737 acres and has long been a popular day in town.

“Go Wild! is my favorite day of the year. I wish it was every Sunday!” Gabe Feurtado, a young Greenwich resident said in a press release issued by the land trust.

By popular demand, The Skifflers will be back with their vintage bluegrass music in the main tent. Also in store are a variety of old-fashioned country games like the apple basket toss, milk bottle knockdown, corn hole and ring around the bottle, all run by event sponsor BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s volunteers.

In addition to Go Wild’s traditional all-American hot dogs, an assortment of other foods will be available, donated by local restaurants and caterers.

Go Wild’s raffle has also been expanded and will provide seven lucky winners with prizes including vacations to Hawaii and Mexico, a gourmet dining package and more.

“Go Wild! is always a fabulous afternoon of fun for all generations. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces enjoying the open space and exciting activities,” said Ginny Gwynn, executive director of the GLT.

Raffle tickets are $50 each and can be purchased by phone until Friday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. at 203-629-2151.

Advance admission tickets can be purchased at Gltrust.org.
