Sacred Heart swimming splits tri-meet with Kent, Hotchkiss

The Convent of the Sacred Heart swimming and diving team competed Wednesday against both Kent School and Hotchkiss and ended up splitting the contest.

Against Kent School, the Tigers came away with the commanding 116-61 victory. However CSH fell to Hotchkiss School by mere inches, losing 92-91.

The Tigers had a plethora of outstanding swims. Grace Isford was solid in both the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard freestyle events. In the 100-back, Isford claimed gold with a time of 1:05.22 and did the same during the 200-free, touching the wall with a time of 2:05.34.

Not to be outdone was Erin Schick in the 200-yard individual medley, as she won the event and posted a time of 2:28.00. In the 100-yard butterfly, Allison Puszynki grabbed the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall with a time of 1:04.38.

CSH had claimed gold and silver in the 100-yard breaststroke. Izzy Wise was tops with a time of 1:17.35, while teammate Caleigh Pope took home second overall with a time of 1:20.00.

In the longest event of the day, the 500-yard freestyle, Ellie Jenson finished with a standout time of 6:25.00. Teammate Jordan Cohen fared well in her event, the 50-yard freestyle, grabbing first with a time of 28.65 seconds.
