Kings opens in Old Greenwich on Friday

To introduce itself to its new neighbors, Kings Food Markets will host a grand opening party for its new Old Greenwich store on Friday, Sept. 28, starting at 11 a.m.

Kings is in the location that for years was the home of the Porricelli’s Food Mart at 26 Arcadia Road. At a special ceremony on Friday at 11 a.m., Kings Food Markets’ President and CEO Judy Spires and Store Manager Scott Kurtz will speak, along with Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei and Soraya Mariel, president of local nonprofit Neighbor to Neighbor.

This is the first Kings Food Market in Connecticut.

Throughout the day, shoppers will be able to enjoy product samples throughout the store, as well as everyday offerings such as hand-rolled sushi, chef-prepared hot foods, choice meats and “top of the catch” quality seafood. In addition, street teams will be on-site to offer samples and customers will have the opportunity to enter to win prizes from Kings and WEBE 108.

According to the store, to demonstrate Kings’ and its vendor partners’ commitment to the local community, a portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit Neighbor to Neighbor.

Kings, an upscale grocery chain with 25 stores in New Jersey and New York locations, has served its local communities for more than 75 years. The acquisition of its new Old Greenwich location represents an extension of the celebrated Kings brand into an entirely new market.
