Town of Greenwich to offer spring soccer

Greenwich Recreation announces that registration for spring Mighty Mites Soccer and Soccer with Aldwin will be open until Friday, March 6 by mail only. In-person registration will begin on March 9. Registration closes on Friday, April 10 or when the programs are filled.

Mighty Mites is co-ed for ages three- to 12-years-old and focuses on the fundamentals of soccer including passing, dribbling, trapping and shooting through practice and games.

Participants must be age three prior to the start of the program on April 25. There is an additional section for ages nine through 12, with instruction and games coordinated by Aldwin St. George and staff. Mighty Mites will take place on Saturday’s from April 25 until June 6 at Havemeyer Fields located behind Town Hall.

Volunteer coaches will be needed for ages three through nine. Interested volunteers can sign-up to coach on the registration form.

Spring Soccer with Aldwin  is a weekly co-ed clinic for ages four through 12. This soccer clinic will focus on all the fundamentals to the game. Each session includes 20 minutes of skill work through drills followed by games. Participants will have an opportunity to play on a different team each week. The program is for eight weeks, starting April 6 and ending May 29 on either Mondays or Fridays at Loughlin Avenue Field from 4:10  – 5:10 p.m.

Registration forms are available in the Recreation Office located at Town Hall and online at Greenwichc.org click on Parks and Recreation and then youth programs under Recreation.
