Brunswick hockey rebounds with 6-1 win over Millbrook

As it has done all season, the Brunswick School ice hockey team rebounded from a loss with a victory, the team’s  18th of the year, against Millbrook, 6-1.

Brunswick broke open a 1-0 game with four second period goals, three of which came off the stick of Jack Mendillo. The junior winger’s hat trick was a bit of a rarity, as Mendillo never wound up to shoot the puck, scoring on two deflections and one swat out of midair.

Junior Brian Ketchabaw made his 34 saves look easy and kept the Mustangs off the board early in the contest, when the momentum was still up for grabs.

As of this writing, the Bruins rank ninth in the RPI. The top 16 teams enter into a comparison to determine the eliteeight tournament participants.

Next up for the Bruins will be a matchup against Salisbury next Monday on the road.
