Oktoberfest coming to benefit United Way

It’s time to dust off your steins in celebration of the Greenwich United Way’s fourth annual Oktoberfest fund-raiser, which takes place Sept. 28 at The Loading Dock in Stamford.

The popular event space will be transformed into a festive Bavarian biergarten and will feature an entertainment-packed evening including food, games, dancing and plenty of other lively activities. Guests can enjoy Bavarian oompah music provided by a DJ from Allen Dalton Productions, who will also provide the after dinner music when the dancing begins.

A variety of beers and wines, German-inspired foods prepared by On the Marc and a silent auction will combine to make for a night of enjoyment while helping the United Way create a strong start to its fund-raising year.

Numerous sponsorship opportunities are available at a variety of donation levels. Lead sponsors include Greenwich Hospital, Carolyn Dempsey Design, R.S. Granoff Architects and Serendipity magazine.

To purchase tickets, which start at $200, or for more information about sponsorship opportunities, go to Unitedway-greenwich.org or call United Way Director of Development Tom Gabriel at 203-869-2221.

The Greenwich United Way’s 2012-2013 Campaign will be reaching out to the entire community to raise the money it will use this year to try and improve the lives of local seniors, children and families, assist individuals in crisis, foster self sufficiency and support many other United Way-led community initiatives.
