Pedestrian injured after accident, police investigate

Greenwich police are investigating a Monday afternoon accident that left a pedestrian in the hospital with what are described as “quite severe injuries.”

According to Lt. Kraig Gray of the Greenwich Police Department, a small school bus carrying nine children was in an accident in the area of Glenville Road and Lake Avenue near the entrance to the Rock Ridge private road. Lt. Gray did not reveal details of the incident, but said a pedestrian sustained injuries and was taken to Stamford Hospital. He did say, though, that five children were on the bus at the time of the accident and none of them were harmed.

More information is expected to be released on Tuesday and updates will be posted to Greenwich-post.com.
