Sacred Heart squash blanks Rye High School 2, 7-0

The Convent of the Sacred Heart squash team rebounded Wednesday afternoon. After a tough loss, the Tigers came back to take care of the Rye High School 2 team 7-0 at Life Time Fitness.

“After losing 7-0 to their #No. 1 team on Monday, the girls were back at the Life Time Fitness pumped up to try to get their revenge and they did it,” CSH head coach Celia Allamargot said. “A really good 7-0 win, the first one of the season. The girls played well even tough some of them lost a bit their focus after dominating the first game. But they managed to get back into it right away and finish it off.”

At No. 1, Mary Grace Henry beat Rye’s Maggie Tolley 11-4, 11-3, 11-4. At No. 2 was Sacred Heart’s Catherine Keating, who finished off Ruby Mann 11-6, 11-4, 11-4. Not to be outdone was CSH’s Alexandra Lilly, as she upended Maeve Lavelle 11-4, 11-3, 11-1.

Isabella Libassi competed at No. 4 for Sacred Heart and was victorious over Ainslay Scholz 11-4, 11-6, 11-8. At No. 5 was Olivia Monahan and she beat Mallory Lynch 11-7, 11-4, 11-6, while Haley Davis won at No. 6 over Ryan Ott 11-8, 10-12, 14-12, 11-4. Rounding out the scoring was Haley Horn at the No. 7 spot, as she beat Shannon Ryan 11-3, 6-11, 11-7, 11-6.

The Tigers will be back in action Tuesday when they host Rye Country Day School.
