Joe Kaliko honored in Bridgeport

Greenwich’s Joe Kaliko was honored by a delegation led by U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

Joe Kaliko, the head of a Greenwich-based non-profit group was honored recently in Bridgeport for his work helping people in the Park City and lower Fairfield County.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch presented commendations to Mr. Kaliko of the Needs Clearing House. The ceremony at City Hall included many of the people Mr. Kaliko has helped over the past year, since founding his organization with State Rep. Fred Camillo.

Mr. Blumenthal said Mr. Kaliko’s tireless work on behalf of individuals, families and charities has made Bridgeport a better place.

“Today gives us the opportunity to say thank you to Joe for the great work he’s been doing.”

Asked how it felt tire receive the commendation Mr. Kaliko said “The feeling was absolutely wonderful to have the recognition of what the organization has accomplished over the last year.”
