Greenwich hockey remains perfect with 3-0 win over St. Joe’s

The Greenwich High School boys ice hockey team ended 2014 on a positive note Tuesday night, as they kept its undefeated season in tact with a 3-0 victory over St. Joseph.

Big Red got on the scoreboard at the 9:08 mark of the first period, as Decker Curran and Naoya Fukuchi set up Kristian Cunningham for the goal.

In the second frame, Brian Silard got the pass from Kevin Piotrzkowski and found the back of the net at the 5:09 mark of period. The Cardinals finished the scoring at the 8:11 mark of the third period, when Colin Kelly and Oliver Fulton dished the puck to Charlie Whiteley for the 3-0 lead.

Greenwich outshot the Cadets 36-23 and senior goalie Bryan Archino was stellar again as he stopped all 23 chances St. Joe’s had.

With the victory, Greenwich upped its overall record to 4-0 on the season.
