Toussaint to perform

Jazz and R&B icon Allen Toussaint will star in a New Orleans Style Jazz Extravaganza in Greenwich on Sept. 23 to benefit Family ReEntry.

Mr. Toussaint will bring his legendary skills to a New Orleans Jazz Brunch on Sept. 23 at noon. This is the 15th annual benefit and musical afternoon in Family ReEntry’s Music in the Garden, which is a key fund-raising event for the group. Last year, the event broke attendance records with a performance by Rosanne Cash.

The jazz brunch concert will benefit programs at Family ReEntry including Champions Mentoring and the Fresh Start program, which provides support through career coaching and job opportunities. Family ReEntry, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing critical life skills to previously incarcerated individuals and their families, a cause that has been championed by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. This is Family ReEntry’s sole mission.

Honorary Event Chair Joan Warburg, long-time supporter of Family ReEntry, will host the annual event at her estate Bydale on John Street in Greenwich.

Tickets begin at $200. For more information or for tickets or sponsorship opportunities, call Jeffrey Earls at 203-838-0496, ext. 113, or e-mail [email protected] For further information about Family ReEntry’s programs, go to
