A Bible is the perfect gift for Christmas

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

What gift is perfect for Christmas? The answer is not blowing in the wind. The answer is in the window of the Christian Science Reading Room at 333 Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich, just below Starbucks.

Your choice of Bibles is expansive. It will not be the World War II New Testament given to my dad when he defended the Great Lakes and trained other sailors. You will find one that is just right, whether annotated, King James or other.

You will probably see Lynn there, a warm and gracious hostess. You will also receive some unconditional love from Bailey, an affectionate and shy Border collie. If you need a respite, some down time, to be quiet, reflective, out of the noise of everyday life, walk in and go to the rear room to read or meditate.

Buy a Bible.

The hours for the Christian Science Reading Room are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
