Yogasmoga, one of the newest stores on Greenwich Avenue, participated in the 6th Annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll on Dec. 6 and 7, which featured more than 110 Greenwich merchants and restaurants.

With denim sales down and yoga apparel sales up 45%, the growth of athletic and leisure apparel coined “athleisure” is rapidly growing. Yogasmoga designs and manufactures women and men’s yoga inspired apparel and is riding the wave into this new trend.

Yogasmoga is an entrepreneur-driven small business started by siblings Rishi and Tapasya Bali, who are originally from the Himalayan region of India, considered the birthplace of yoga.

After busy careers on Wall Street, Rishi and Tapasya turned in their business suits for yoga pants and started Yogasmoga, a lifestyle, wellness, yoga and community inspired brand.

In February 2013 they launched online and within three months sold out of product. In September 2014, Yogasmoga opened its first store in Greenwich, the second store opened in Los Angeles, C.A. in November.

Both Rishi and Tapasya believe deeply in philanthropy, which is why they created Namaskar a foundation that supports health, education and micro-lending in the developing world.
