United Way Legislative Breakfast Dec. 19

The Greenwich United Way Community Planning Council’s Legislative Breakfast will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, in the Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room.

The annual event takes place from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. All interested residents, local organizations and service agencies, town government employees and other community leaders involved in local health and human services are invited to take part. To register, email [email protected]

Veteran moderator Brook Urban will welcome the panelists: state Reps. Fred Camillo and Livvy Floren, newly elected Rep. Mike Bocchino, state Sen. Scott Frantz, and Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei.

This annual forum provides an opportunity for sharing information, an open discussion and an overview of priorities and collaborative efforts.

Legislators will be asked about such topics as attracting and retaining businesses in Connecticut, the Board of Education’s new plan to strengthen and increase the use of magnet schools, and the need for more reliable public transportation. They will also discuss the recent ALICE report from the United Ways of Connecticut, which highlights the financial hardships facing 25% of working families in the state.
