Greenwich resident Rob Mathes brings his annual holiday concert to the Performing Arts Center, Purchase College (SUNY) on Friday, Dec. 19, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m.

Entering his third decade, this will be Mr. Mathes and his all-star band’s 21st year showcasing their holiday musical magic. Tickets are $75, $50 and $40 and are available at the Performing Arts Center box office at ArtsCenter.org or by calling 914-251-6200. The concert has become a beloved holiday tradition in town, setting the scene for the holiday season.

To put audiences in the spirit of the season, this heart-warming rocking show features original tunes, holiday classics and Mr. Mathes favorites. Entertaining the community and surrounding areas for more than two decades, Mr. Mathes’ show has become a much anticipated holiday tradition.

Each year Mr. Mathes invites amazing guests to perform with him. Past guests such as Vanessa Williams and Michael McDonald have taken the stage alongside Rob and his “regular” guest artists including Will Lee on bass, Billy Masters on guitar, Joe Bonadio on drums, Rick Knutsen on keyboards and vocalists James “D Train” Williams, Ian Cron and Angela Clemmons. This holiday engagement will include a full choir and horns section, enhancing Rob’s already renowned bluesy, spiritual, pop and rock music.

“The holidays are my favorite time of year,” Mr. Mathes said. “To be able to return home every December and perform with the best musicians in the industry for our dedicated fans is truly a gift. I look forward to this special tradition each year.”

A multiple-Grammy nominated and Emmy award winning musician, Mr. Mathes has worked with virtually every big name in the music industry, arranging, producing, directing, recording, and performing with the likes of Sting, Bono, Tony Bennett, Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen. He has performed for all of the recent presidents and this year he was chosen to arrange and conduct The Star Spangled Banner for Renee Fleming’s opening to Super Bowl XLVIII.

Each December, Mr. Mathes is invited to musically direct the holiday specials TNT’s Christmas in Washington and CBS’s Kennedy Center Honors. 2014 has been a big year on stage for Mr. Mathes as he is the music supervisor, director and arranger for Sting’s new Broadway show, The Last Ship, which opened in October. He even had a hand in composing some of the show’s songs with Sting, a 16-time Grammy Award winner.

The Rob Mathes Holiday Concert always includes a charitable component. This year he and the Performing Arts Center are proud to support Connecticut Food Bank: A Partnership to Alleviate Hunger, with a food drive during both concerts. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation to the show and help make someone’s holiday season brighter!

Tickets for The Rob Mathes Holiday Concert are $75, $50 and $40 and are available at the Performing Arts Center’s box office at 735 Anderson Hill Road in Purchase, N.Y., by phone at 914-251-6200 or online at ArtsCenter.org.
